Performance vs trust

in Professional

I love Simon Sinek. Not only the message he is trying to get through, but also the way he does it. So today a quick tale about performance vs trust. Or — in other words — hard skills vs soft skills. I mentioned before that during recruitment I’d always pick a person aligned with our values but lacking technical skills over an excelent specialist that happen to also be an asshole (well, maybe except for that one time we filled our devops position, but at least Tomek was funny).

Here’s Simon with a tale about the Navy SEALs:

So, have you ever figured out who’s the asshole on your team? And who’s the person you can always trust? Which one of them got recognized or promoted lately?

Was this interesting?
